10th Anniversary Visit to Montesson
We had a wonderful weekend in Montesson. Our hosts really pushed the boat out (but not the bateau mouche in which we cruised along the Seine). The weather was glorious and we really enjoyed the guided cruise which began at the Eiffel Tower, took us to beyond Notre Dame and then back again. We had a picnic lunch and then set off for the Musée D’Orsay. We had a guided tour which lasted most of the afternoon - but a couple of ladies managed to get to the Christian Dior shop near the Champs Elysées and back to the coach in time! On Saturday evening we enjoyed our 10th Anniversary Reception and Dinner at the Maison du Parc. Hats were the order of the day and the Thame ladies did us proud. Sylvie Breuzet, President of Jumelages Montesson, presented a “Milestone” bollard indicating Montesson 495km. We are looking for a suitable position for this in Thame and will hold an appropriate ceremony when it is installed. After aperitifs in the lovely gardens balloons were released celebrating the anniversary.
