We visit our twin town of Montesson every year on the 3rd weekend of September.
We set off early on Friday morning by coach/mini-bus/car depending on numbers & personal preference, cross by Eurotunnel, stop off at a hypermarket for the mandatory beer/wine/cheese purchases, & arrive in the town of Montesson early in the evening evening for a meet & greet, drinks & nibbles.
Our hosts take us to their homes where we are looked after for the rest of the weekend, leaving on the afternoon of the Sunday for the trip home.
There is always a trip laid on for Saturday - in previous years our hosts have taken us on a boat trip along the Seine, to a variety of Chateaus (should that be Châteaux ?) & Cathedrals as well as Monet's Garden & the Louvre.
Our host families look after us for all meals with the exception of a communal meal laid on by the town of Montesson on Saturday evening or Sunday lunchtime, to which our hosts come too.
If you'd like to know a little more detail, please read some of the trip reports.
If you're concerned about not speaking French, please don't worry - many (most?) of our members don't speak the language but have a great time nonetheless.
The costs vary - it's organised on a break-even basis, & while we don't pay for accomodation or meals, we do have to cover the costs of transport. The more that sign up, the lower the individual cost.
